♥♥♥1/2
First time I'm reading one of his short stories anthologies, although I've read his stories in mixed anthologies before. This is also the first time I'm reading his non-Newford works. I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, I really loved most of the stories, and they all left me carrying a small piece of them inside of me. They all touched me in some way or another. But I enjoyed the non-Newford ones more than the Newford ones. I think this is a personal thing - even though I love writing short stories, I take a longer time reading them than I do novels. And I love the characters introduced in the Newford stories, like Suzie and Maisie, but the fact that I'm familiar with Newford only makes me want their stories to be longer. As for the non-Newford stories, I liked them as they are. I loved the idea of Bordertown, and the Tamson House story is eerily similar to my childhood in Bangi. I finished this feeling satisfied, but still wishing for a longer volume to read.
