Booking Through Thursday: Recent Big

What’s the biggest book you’ve read recently?
(Feel free to think “big” as size, or as popularity, or in any other way you care to interpret.)

Big as in the size of the book - A Mermaid's Tale by Amanda Adams, which I read in June. It's sort of like a memoir of the writer who has had an obsession with mermaids since she was young. She writes about her own experiences with mermaid songs/stories/films, as well as the mermaid in a mythological and historical context.

Big as in the popularity of the book - probably either the Fullmetal Alchemist manga by Hiromu Arakawa or Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. I started Fullmetal Alchemist because an ex-colleague recommended it, and I think I'm a fan now.

I try to avoid "big" sized novels where possible. I opted to go with "big" in terms of popularity and themes for BTT and chose Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games.

I've never read any manga (or Sophie Kinsella) for that matter. More titles to add to my TBR?
