Musing Mondays: Wishlists
Do you keep a book wishlist, either on paper, Amazon/etc, or via a book database site (Shelfari, GoodReads, LibraryThing)? If yes, do you share this list with others (especially coming up to Christmas)? I do have a wishlist on Amazon, and sometimes I note books that I'd like on Shelfari or Good Reads or Library Thing, but most of the time I don't really bother sharing them with others these days, as my family and friends don't really look through them anyway! They don't usually get me books, although they do give me bookstore vouchers sometimes. I think most of them are scared of getting me something I've already read, or something that I'm not interested in reading, as most of my family and friends don't share my taste in books.
Most of the time, books are something that I'd get for myself - I could pretty much order anything I want to read through the bookstore I work at, anyway. I suppose my wishlists are more like a reminder to myself, "these are the books I want to get one day!"
The last time I received a book as a gift was during last Christmas's book bloggers swap. It was also the first time someone who actually checked my wishlists and Library Thing gave me a book, I think, because I really loved the books I received.

I absolutely LOVE goodreads for giving me a place to keep my wishlist. I especially like to track WHO inspired me to 'tbr' it. I used to have an address book that I would write down author's name/title in the appropriate letter spot and then I could check/date when I read it.
Care - I like to remember who inspired me to TBR books, too, but I haven't written them down or anything. Maybe I should start doing that :)
